Lightly moisten the rim of a shot glass and dip it in red sugar or sprinkles to coat the edge.

Measure and pour vodka into the prepared shot glass as the base layer.

Slowly pour white creme de cacao over the back of a spoon to float atop the vodka, forming a distinct second layer.

Carefully layer peppermint schnapps over the back of a spoon on top of the creme de cacao.

Top with a small dollop of whipped cream and an additional pinch of red sugar or sprinkles. Serve immediately.
