Place all sliced fruit, spices, white wine, rum, honey or maple syrup, and orange juice into a medium, non-reactive saucepan.

Set saucepan over medium-low heat and bring mixture to a gentle simmer. Do not allow to boil to preserve the alcohol content.

Maintain a gentle simmer for 15–30 minutes, adjusting the duration based on preferred spice intensity. Keep warm on low heat for up to 1 hour if preparing in advance, but do not simmer excessively to avoid bitterness.

Taste and modify the sweetness with additional honey or maple syrup as needed.

Pour warm mulled wine into heat-resistant mugs or glasses. Garnish with extra fruit slices and whole spices for presentation if desired.
