Preheat the oven to 190°C and lightly grease a 23×33 cm baking dish.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until fully browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the beef and cook until softened, 3–4 minutes.

Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Arrange the thinly sliced potatoes in an even layer over the beef.

Season the potatoes with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Sprinkle the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top.

Pour the beef broth around the edges of the dish. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and continue baking for 15–20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is golden.
