My Grandmother’s Homemade Chex Mix (Print-Friendly Format)

Buttery, spiced snack mix combining crunchy cereals, pretzels, and nuts. A nostalgic favorite for sharing.

# Ingredients You’ll Need:

→ Cereal and Snacks

01 - 200 g Corn Chex
02 - 200 g Crispix cereal
03 - 100 g Wheat Chex
04 - 100 g small salted pretzels
05 - 100 g Cheez-It crackers
06 - 100 g mixed nuts

→ Seasoned Butter Mixture

07 - 170 g unsalted butter, melted
08 - 60 ml Worcestershire sauce
09 - 1 tablespoon seasoning salt (such as Lawry’s)
10 - 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
11 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
12 - 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
13 - 1 teaspoon chili powder

# How to Make It:

01 - Set the oven to 165°C and allow it to fully preheat.
02 - In a large rimmed baking sheet, mix together Corn Chex, Crispix, Wheat Chex, pretzels, Cheez-It crackers, and mixed nuts until evenly distributed.
03 - Gently melt butter in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Whisk in the Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and chili powder until fully blended.
04 - Pour the seasoned butter evenly over the cereal and snack mixture in the baking sheet. Toss thoroughly with spatulas or clean hands to ensure everything is well coated.
05 - Place the pan in the oven and bake for 25 minutes, stirring once halfway through to promote even crisping. If necessary, extend the baking time by 5–10 minutes for extra crunch, rotating the pan as needed.
06 - Remove the pan from the oven and let the mix cool completely on the baking sheet. Once cooled, transfer to an airtight container for storage or serve immediately.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Adjust cayenne and chili powder to your heat preference or omit for a milder version. Stirring midway prevents scorching and ensures even flavor distribution.
02 - This blend is ideal for gatherings and can be easily doubled to serve larger groups. Rotate the pan if your oven has hot spots.
