Measure Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl and set aside.

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt together chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter, stirring continuously until smooth and fully combined.

Remove saucepan from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Allow mixture to cool for 2–3 minutes.

Pour chocolate mixture over Chex cereal in three additions, gently folding with a spatula after each to evenly coat without crushing.

Place powdered sugar and sanding sugar into a large airtight plastic bag and shake to blend. Add coated cereal in batches, seal, and gently shake to cover thoroughly.

Transfer coated cereal to a rimmed baking sheet lined with wax paper, spreading into a single layer. Refrigerate for 1 hour to set.

Once set, remove and keep in an airtight container at room temperature or chilled until ready to serve.
