Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with aluminium foil and arrange bacon slices in a single layer. Bake for 15–20 minutes until crisp, then transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium heat, cook chicken for approximately 6–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Rest briefly, then slice into thin strips.

Lay out 4 slices of bread on a baking sheet. Distribute sliced chicken evenly over each slice, top with crispy bacon, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.

Drizzle ranch dressing generously over the cheese on each slice. Cover with remaining 4 bread slices to form complete sandwiches.

Bake sandwiches in the preheated oven for 5–7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the bread is lightly toasted. Let cool slightly, then slice in half and serve hot.
