Best Apple Crisp Dessert (Print Version)

Warm apples, cinnamon, and crunchy oats merge for an irresistible dessert, especially paired with vanilla ice cream.

# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - 5 cups fresh apples, sliced evenly (approximately 600 g)
02 - 120 g granulated white sugar
03 - 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Topping

05 - 65 g all-purpose flour
06 - 30 g old fashioned rolled oats
07 - 135 g packed brown sugar
08 - 0.25 teaspoon fine salt
09 - 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
10 - 60 g unsalted butter, melted

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 175°C. Lightly grease a deep-dish pie plate or a large baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Toss until the apple slices are uniformly coated. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer.
03 - In a separate bowl, add flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Pour in melted butter and stir mixture until a crumbly texture forms and ingredients are evenly moistened.
04 - Distribute the prepared crumb topping evenly over the apple filling. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 60 minutes, or until the apple filling is tender and the topping is golden brown.
05 - Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

# Notes:

01 - Slice apples to a uniform thickness to ensure even baking.
02 - If the topping browns too quickly, loosely cover the dish with aluminium foil.
03 - Chopped pecans or walnuts may be added to the topping for extra texture, but omit for nut allergies.
04 - Serve with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for added indulgence.
