Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Wash and trim ends of green beans. For enhanced colour and tenderness, blanch beans in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then place in an ice bath to cool. Drain thoroughly.

Group 6-8 green beans and form compact bundles. Wrap each bundle tightly with half a piece of bacon.

Arrange bundles seam-side down on prepared tray. Drizzle olive oil over bundles, then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Mix brown sugar, soy sauce, and additional black pepper in a small bowl. Brush glaze mixture over bacon-wrapped bundles if desired.

Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until bacon is crisp and beans are tender. Rotate sheet once for even browning.

Allow bundles to cool slightly before serving. Transfer to a platter and serve warm.
